Anyway, Batam is great for a short get-away from work. But it's best to go with a big group of friends and family because there's nothing much to do. Prices there are either pretty marked-up or freaking cheap. We spend alot on food mostly. There's nothing else much to buy. The clothes there are super dated. My hopes of finding barang barangs like seashell necklaces, bangles and bikinis are quickly dashed because you dun see them anywhere. Perhaps Bali would be a better place to find them. On the overall, friends and family make your day in Batam.
In the ferry to Batam. That's my 2 brothers.

My daddy and my brother, Alvin.

Me and little brother, Darren.

Okay! A Sampan! We're in Batam, Indonesia.

It was low tide.

Cruising into a river

We reached their harbour

Now we're on a mini bus to our resort.

We went past a kampong estate

The smaller shops they have in kampongs.

These are in their city area. The bigger shops.

Their school.

This is a church!

One of the resort rooms. Their rooms are not standard. I didn't get this room. My aunt did. Sexy right? Still I got a reasonable queen size bed to share with my cousin.

Even sexier. Hahaha. It's an open bathroom window to the bed area.

So rustic eh...basically every room has the same layout, just different furniture and bed sizes accordingly.

This is my more modern room. Still cosy and nice.

The bathroom even had a hairdryer lor! And a bathtub. I had bubble buths. =P

So basically, the first day was spent touring the city, shopping for food and cheap lingerie, and at resort's bar, drinking, playing pool and foosball.
That's all for now. =)
